RAWLINGS — Betty Lee Chucci, 87, of Rawlings, passed away on Tuesday, June 4,
2013, at the Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care.
Born Nov. 24, 1925, in Parsons, W.Va., Mrs. Chucci was the daughter of the late
Clinton E. Matthew and Dona M. (Shaffer) Matthew. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Vance Louie Chucci, on Sept. 17, 1966; an infant son,
Terry Chucci; three brothers, Roy Matthew, Carl Matthew and Clinton Matthew Jr.
and a sister, Audrey Wagoner.
A graduate of Ridgeley High School, Betty also graduated from Sacred Heart
School of Nursing, class of 1973. She retired in 1994 from Sacred Heart
Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Betty was Methodist by faith and loved
to read and quilt.
Betty is survived by her sons, Richard Chucci and wife Terri, of Fort Ashby,
W.Va., Larry Chucci and wife Carolyn, of Loganville, Ga. and Kenny
Chucci, of Marietta, Ga. and her daughters, Sharon Volkerding and husband John,
of Marietta, Ga. and Janice Pennel and husband Daryl, of Cumberland. She also
leaves behind her sister, Wanda Tucker, of South Carolina; her brother-in-law,
Dewey Wagoner, of Wiley Ford, W.Va.; her sister-in-law, Mary Matthew, of
Frostburg; as well as 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two more
great-grandchildren due this summer.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur
St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday,
June 7, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, June 8,
2013, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Sherri Ziler officiating.
Interment will be in Abe Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
The family would like to thank Betty’s neighbors, Ray and Carol Cook, for all
their help and also the Lions Center for the care and support they have
provided.
